Instructor: Passaic/Monmouth/Ocean Counties
My name is Janine and I am excited that this will be my third year with The Adventure Squad. Swimming became one of my life’s passions when I became a competitive swimmer in High School. My swimming career began with no experience and a coach who believed in me. With hard work and determination I soon became successful in the swimming community. I left my High School with three school records and an opportunity to become a collegiate athlete. I went on to sign with Rowan University Swimming and Diving team. I graduated Rowan University with a 3.2 GPA and a bachelors in Health and Exercise Science. I am proud to say that I was a collegiate athlete for four years and had one school record. During the summers I was hired as an Ocean Lifeguard in Lavallette, New Jersey. I was a lifeguard for seven years where I gained experience in water safety. Currently, I am a health and physical education teacher in an inner city school district where I teach swimming as part of the curriculum. My success wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for a coach believing in me. Just as my coach believed in me, I would enjoy an opportunity to believe in you. I look forward to working with you and your children.

I am a 31 year old man who grew up swimming and loving the water at the Jersey Shore. I am a USA Swimming certified coach with a valid coaches card. I am also American Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
I have been a head swim coach at the Manasquan River Yacht Club in Brielle, NJ for the past 13 summers and will be again this summer. This is a summer swim team that consists of approximately one hundred children ranging in ages from four to fifteen years old. In conjunction with being the swim coach I am also the head swim instructor. My responsibilities include developing a swim curriculum, lesson plans for each lesson, and teaching proper stroke technique.
Throughout the school year I live with my wife in Bethlehem, PA. I am an elementary school teacher and education has always been a field that I have aspired to work in. I have been working at Bethlehem Township Community Center pool since October. There, I gave swim lessons to children ages 3-16 and also life guarded when not teaching lessons.
I have in the past coached for New Jersey Race Club, a competitive club swim team. I was the head novice swim coach where i worked with first year club swimmers ranges in age 5-12 on stroke technique and the beginnings of race training.

I am very proud to be a Co Owner and Co Creator of the Adventure Squad. For almost 20 years I have had the privilege of instructing children and adults in multiple sports and recreational activities. I am also the Co Owner of Pendo Karate in Manasquan NJ where I have had the opportunity to instruct thousands of children in martial art. My love for the water began at a very young age. I participated in multiple lifeguarding programs and swam competitively for my high school. Once I decided to combine my knowledge of swimming and my experience in teaching, swim instruction became something I enjoyed very much. Simply put…. I love to teach.
When people ask if I enjoy what I do for a living, I tell them there is no other career I should be doing! I absolutely love teaching swim to all abilities but I especially love to help swimmers overcome their fear of water. I have been teaching at-home private swim lessons since 1995. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with children from Bergen all the way down to Ocean Counties and everywhere in between. My experience in teaching and coaching gymnastics has carried over into swimming. I love to help and encourage nervous swimmers. The greatest feeling is to see a child succeed and for them to feel that sense of accomplishment. I am excited to have a company that helps save children's lives through swim lessons.
